I got into brittanys in 1963 while in high school. At the time I was looking for a field English Cocker to hunt pheasant, woodcock, and ruffed grouse. I wasn't able to find one, so I began to look through different dog books. I liked what I read about Brittany Spaniels, so I started looking around for a puppy. A member of the Baptist Church I attended had a litter. I purchased a male puppy for $25 from him. I called him Buddy of Golden Fields. He wasn't a hard running dog, but was an excellent bird dog. He had the ability to find and work birds where other dogs couldn't. When Bud was less than 2 years, I was drafted into the army and I sold him to a friend.
